If I’ve learned anything in business, it’s that the universe rewards courage. 

Six years ago, I decided to start my own yoga business. I was scared. I was living in my childhood bedroom after an extended backpacking trip where I flew around the entire globe. I came back because I had run out of money.

I knew I could get a job or go back to school, but the thought of living a life that wasn’t focused on experiences that stretched the fabric of my spirit felt scarier than eating ramen every day or saying no to brunch and nights out with friends for a bit.

I was still scared, but I had witnessed first hand in my travels how throwing yourself daringly into the unknown with an open heart always rewarded me ten times more than I thought possible.

I had a little hope and a big dream- and still a ton of fear and imposter syndrome.

When I launched my first retreat, I had $30 in my bank account and was asking people for a $300 deposit. 

I will never forget when the first retreat deposit came in and bumped my account to $330. I laughed at the thought of them seeing my balance. At that moment, I knew I had gone all in on my dreams. I realized I didn’t need any particular amount of experience or money to create successful, transformative experiences for people- and that anything is possible when you truly desire it.
